Currently there is an exclusive luxury accommodation Magashi Camp that has opened its doors this year 2019.  Magashi camp is located  in the north eastern sector of Akagera national park. The Lodge has a spacious lounge with a lager dining area and bar offering views of Lake Rwanyakazinga. This is a boutique hotel with just six luxury tents, offering an exclusive luxury experience. The campsite is also under renovation, where by a barrier has been built around the campsite to stop animals like hippos, from accessing the camping ground. This is a low stone wall and you can still be able to view the lake, since it’s a lake shore campsite.  Showers and toilets are also under constructions, and these will be modern flash toilets and with hot water in the showers. A barbecue area and a common area built in a traditional oval format has been constructed to improve the overall camping experience.  Camping can be done at this site during your Akagera game safari. To camp you can carry you own camping gear and sleeping bags if you are to stay at any campsite.

Karenge Bush camp the seasonal campsite, has increased the number of months in which it will be operational. The seasonal campsite will be open almost all year round except during November and April. This has also increased the number of camping options available during the year.

Last but not least, it is unfortunate we have to inform you that Ruzizi tented camp/ lodge, will be closed in May 2019. On the other side of the coin, this closure is aimed at renovating the facility. This is aimed at clients can have a better experience during the peak seasons of June to September. On a greater note; Akagera is offering a special package for the month of April with discounted rates on entry fees and boat trips in Akagera. Contact akagera to take advantage of this offer in April.
